Additional Skills

Localization married with technology
I have extensive experience in all the main tools used in the language service industry.
I am very accomplished in localization platforms and translation management systems, subtitling software, and industry-standard CAT tools, especially Trados Studio.
I can create, edit, and update style guides and online glossaries based on existing translations and for new client requirements, with a strong focus on specialized terminology and inclusive language.
In addition, I have a good understanding of project management and issue tracking tools - such as Smartsheet and Jira - and business communication platforms - e.g. Microsoft Teams and Slack.
Finally, I have intermediate skills in coding and UI/UX design and advanced knowledge of WCMS - such as WordPress (yep, I made this website all by myself ), Joomla, Magento, etc. - which have proven to be very valuable during my day-to-day work as a linguist.
Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality
I have experience as a Language Lead, managing TEP (Translation, Editing & Proofreading) and LQA (Language Quality Assurance) teams, and making sure that everything runs smoothly.
More specifically, I coordinate vendors and I answer queries on various communication channels. I organize and hold quality meetings - creating the agenda, assigning action items and updating glossaries, translation memories, and style guides based on what is discussed.
This role helped me to develop excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as acquiring a deep understanding of specialized terminology, particularly tech and IT.
When it comes to SEO, content is still king
In SEO, the phrase "content is king" by Microsoft founder Bill Gates has been quoted for over two decades, and it's still as relevant as ever. With the continuous growth of digital media, there's never been a better time to invest in creating and localizing high-quality and engaging content.
As a former SEO/SEM specialist who worked in top-notch companies, I acquired precious skills for SEO-friendly localization.
I have extensive knowledge in keyword research (trends, search volumes, etc.) and keyword localization.
I have expertise in link building (the practice of building backlinks to a website) and internal linking (the practice of creating a link structure for crawlers and connecting content within a website).
I have an intermediate knowledge of many onsite techniques - content layout and heading structure, meta tags and page slugs, sitemaps, structured data, mobile optimization, and so on.
I have a deep understanding of industry-standard SEO/SEM tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Search Console, Google Trends, Screaming Frog SEO Spider, Moz, SemRush, Ahrefs, etc.
Human centered, AI enhanced
Thanks to their abilities, such as creativity, research skills, and detail orientation, linguists are paramount in any AI-enhanced language task.
I have extensive knowledge in AI post-editing and quality evaluation. In post-editing tasks, I review the translation and improve it to a human level. I am also able to transcreate with the help of AI and perform AI TM maintenance and cleanup tasks. In quality assessment tasks, I rate the AI output quality on characteristics such as accuracy and conciseness, as well as grammatical correctness.
I have expertise in generative AI training, and I know many methodologies to 'teach' an AI model how to be more helpful. During my day-to-day work, I usually craft challenging questions for the model to practice (prompts).
I ensure AI models follow the instructions from prompts, providing accurate, relevant, and engaging answers. I evaluate AI responses to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary adjustments, e.g. writing/rewriting original detailed answers to feed the AI models.
Moreover, I can rank answers from different providers, conduct A/B tests, and analyze performance metrics to improve prompt effectiveness.
Finally, I stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and natural language processing to incorporate best practices in my workflow.
