Additional Skills

əˈdɪʃənəl skɪlz

Let me introduce you to my other superpowers 🦸‍♂️

Localization married with technology

I have extensive experience in all the main tools used in the language service industry.

I am very accomplished in localization platforms and translation management systems, subtitling software, and industry-standard CAT tools, especially Trados Studio.

I can create, edit, and update style guides and online glossaries based on existing translations and for new client requirements, with a strong focus on specialized terminology and inclusive language.

In addition, I have a good understanding of project management and issue tracking tools - such as Smartsheet and Jira - and business communication platforms - e.g. Microsoft Teams and Slack.

Finally, I have intermediate skills in coding and UI/UX design and advanced knowledge of WCMS - such as WordPress (yep, I made this website all by myself 💪), Joomla, Magento, etc. - which have proven to be very valuable during my day-to-day work as a linguist.

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality

I have experience as a Language Lead, managing TEP (Translation, Editing & Proofreading) and LQA (Language Quality Assurance) teams, and making sure that everything runs smoothly.

More specifically, I coordinate vendors and I answer queries on various communication channels. I organize and hold quality meetings - creating the agenda, assigning action items and updating glossaries, translation memories, and style guides based on what is discussed.

This role helped me to develop excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as acquiring a deep understanding of specialized terminology, particularly tech and IT.

When it comes to SEO, content is still king

In SEO, the phrase "content is king" by Microsoft founder Bill Gates has been quoted for over two decades, and it's still as relevant as ever. With the continuous growth of digital media, there's never been a better time to invest in creating and localizing high-quality and engaging content.

As a former SEO/SEM specialist who worked in top-notch companies, I acquired precious skills for SEO-friendly localization.

I have extensive knowledge in keyword research (trends, search volumes, etc.) and keyword localization.

I have expertise in link building (the practice of building backlinks to a website) and internal linking (the practice of creating a link structure for crawlers and connecting content within a website).

I have an intermediate knowledge of many onsite techniques - content layout and heading structure, meta tags and page slugs, sitemaps, structured data, mobile optimization, and so on.

I have a deep understanding of industry-standard SEO/SEM tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Search Console, Google Trends, Screaming Frog SEO Spider, Moz, SemRush, Ahrefs, etc.

About Me

əˈbaʊt mi

I’ve been designing with words for more than 15 years. 🪶

After graduating in Humanities (BA+MA) cum laude at the University of Bologna 👨‍🎓, I worked in institutions and top-notch companies in Italy and France as editor, SEO specialist and translator.

In 2015, I worked as a translator in the startup incubator and accelerator Lanzadera in Valencia, Spain.

After this enriching experience, I took the big decision: go freelance with a digital nomad lifestyle.

Now I live between Bologna, Italy and Valencia, Spain, enjoying the 300 days of sun ☀ and the buzzling atmosphere of this amazing Mediterranean city.

Translation is not a matter of words only:
it is a matter of making intelligible a whole culture.
